Travel reduction: Z4/ MXC series

Another guide for UK mag MBR, this time we looked at the travel reduction of a simple damping rod model the MXC Air. This time we used an inverted technique where we could retain the volume of oil inside the stanchion.

  1. Hello,
I assumed the internals of EXR Pro Air is similar to MX Comp Air. I followed the instructions above and got to to step 12. I could not seem to tighten the foot nuts and I'm guessing the damping unit rotates with the nut.

Is there a way to lock the damping unit so the nut can be tightened?

  2. The layout of the two forks is basically the same. Damper rods can spin, unfortunately there is no specific tool to stop this. My suggestion would to use a tube (like an old handlebar) that you can put inside the stanchion to add pressure to the top of the rod, this will be enough to enable you to torque correctly.
